Hello everyone!
Today is going to be romantic and chaotic! It's about a commissioned painting that I did for a wedding of two dear, but somewhat crazy friends and in which many fingers were involved.
The bride and groom are two very special people. The family means a lot to me because they helped me to find a home here in Bavaria. In recent years, they have been tested by many strokes of fate.
The more beautiful were the coincidences of how the two found their way to each other. They have become friends that I wouldn't want to miss!

I was already able to help paint the new workshop in 2019. It was a great experience to immerse myself in my first job again and work out physically.
My car was also really worn out that weekend. It was a very snowy winter here in Bavaria and the drive alone was an adventure in itself. When I arrived at the farm, I sank into a snowdrift and the next day there was almost nothing left of my poor Kia. It took a tractor to get my car out of the snow. But that is just one of many experiences that I associate with the family.

By the way, if you are looking for a good motorhome or caravan, you should definitely pay them a visit: Handler Mobile!
One beautiful evening this year, the bride approached me with the request to paint a picture in which the wedding guests could leave their fingerprints. She gave me the motif with the balloon and the lovers, and I was free to design the rest.
Luckily I had the picture for the other wedding (can be read in the penultimate article). I had practiced landscape painting and was able to take some elements from the picture.

The picture itself was easy to paint. The clouds didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. Overall, I find it difficult to paint clouds realistically. I like the balloon basket with the couple in the sunset all the better. The mountains also give the picture a sense of depth.
I chose the mountains because the groom is a keen mountaineer and doesn't shy away from challenges.
At the wedding, the guests were then allowed to put their fingerprints in the balloon. The wedding itself was a bit chaotic at times, but beautiful and therefore unforgettable! And it was a wonderful match for the dream couple!
For me, the story of these two is a good example of God's faithfulness. Sometimes God allows difficult times in our lives that bring us to our limits and we no longer see a future. But the bright and beautiful days come again. After the dark night, there is always a new morning! May one day the never-ending dawn of eternity rise over them and over us all!
Finally, here is a small picture, which was also a small assignment from the two of them. They were supposed to be stick figures 🙂
This was painted on 20x30cm acrylic cardboard. It was a simple work that was created during a cozy evening. It is currently the most recent picture I have painted. But I have many more ideas waiting to be painted on canvas!
