The stormy seas are behind us for now. Our ship has reached safe harbor. Cold, wet and seasickness are behind us - but so is an unforgettable adventure. Now we are surrounded by a warm breeze, filled with the scent of Mediterranean spices. We find ourselves in a
old towns. In front of us are rolling green hills and fields. Behind them, larger mountains rise up with the promise of a new adventure. Cypresses and olive trees sway gently in the balmy breeze. Everything invites us to explore this wonderful world. What better way to do this than on a short ride on a motorcycle?

The hum of the engine, the feeling of the machine rushing through the hilly and winding roads of Tuscany while the warm wind caresses us. That is the absolute feeling of freedom!

... At least for those who like that sort of thing...

A friend of mine likes it. In addition to sailing, motorcycling is a real dream for her. For her this is last picture that I presented to you. She was the one who commissioned me to paint a picture of a Ducati in Tuscany. That was a new challenge for me. Personally, I'm not that much into motorcycling. I don't have any connection to it. Except that I have treated a few patients in therapy after motorcycle accidents.
I therefore first had to familiarize myself with the “anatomy” of such a vehicle. It took a few hours, a couple of YouTube videos and a long search for pictures on the Internet before I had a sketch and an idea of “my” Ducati.

The only thing missing now was the Tuscan landscape. Fortunately, there were some YouTube tutorials that would help me with this. I found one, in which the Ducati would also find a place and I set about taking the test picture. The Ducati didn't turn out so well in that one, but all the better on the big screen.

Today, this picture hangs next to his sister “Lost in Sea” in my girlfriend's hallway.

Both pictures awaken the desire to discover the big wide world. One at sea, the other on land. Both are different worlds, as different as the vehicles on which they are explored.

That makes me think about the diversity that we can experience in this world. There is so much to discover. No matter where we are on this earth, each has its own fascination. Be it the depths of the sea or the high snow-covered mountain peaks, the endless ocean or a narrow valley, the large whale or a small butterfly, the coral reefs hidden in the water or the poppy flower on the edge of a field - each is a wonder in itself. And yet they are all connected to each other in a cycle. Every tiny creature is so complex and unique. But the interaction of all organisms is also a single miracle. This begs the question: can all this have come about by chance or is there a highly intelligent being behind it that takes pleasure in beauty and diversity...?
